Las Vegas Summer - How Bad Can it Be?

“I need to get out of this heat and humidity,” I said to Mrs. Flusher. “It’s unbearable.”

“Uh-huh,” she replied.

“I’ve booked a trip to Vegas. Sort of solo.”

“That makes sense. To go to the desert to get away from the heat. In summer. And don’t say anything about it being a dry heat.”
Vegas in summer… how bad could it be anyway? Sure it might be a little warm, just nice sunny summer weather. I felt rejuvenated just thinking about it.

I booked the thing. Used my host at the Cal, and various offers. Three nights at the Cal, comped with meal book, three nights at Encore on a buy 2 get 1 free, plus $100 freeplay pseudo-offer, three nights at Mandalay Bay on an offer - 2 comp nights, 1 purchased, with $75 resort credit, and then on the best offer of all, three nights at the Four Queens, with $300 free play, all food comped, including a dinner at Hugo’s Cellar.

I could just imagine myself having a victory dinner at Hugo’s with champagne and crab legs, celebrating another successful gambling trip!

As some of you will recall, we ramped up our play at the Four Queens to get those $300 free play offers rolling - now we both get them, so if we focus on the better games there, played well, we have a pretty good chance to win some dough, or at least, offset losses.

The next day in the lunchroom at Royal Canadian Veeblefetzer, where I spend my waking hours and my working career with eyes glazed over, determining into which of two sheet metal bins the current stream of thousands of size 7 grommets, automatically ejaculated by the line at the rate of 300 per minute, should be directed, Jimmy Poon asked me a question.

“Royal, “ asked Jimmy Poon, “when is your next trip to Vegas?”

“I’d go with you sometime,” piped up Kenny Blankenship, my buddy from as far back as high school, who had the dubious credentials of having lost both earlobes in separate industrial accidents at the Royal Canadian Veeblefetzer plant in Flusherville, ON.

“Kenny, you don’t gamble,” I replied.

“I know, but there’s tons of stuff to do there. There’s food. And stuff. I’ve read your blog,  I’d love to come out and just hang out wichou.”

“Wichou?...”

“So when are you going?” asked Jimmy Poon.

“Jimmy Poon, it just so happens that I booked a trip last night! I leave early in the morning - solo - on July 17th, well before you awaken, Kenny.”

    1. I think you will appreciate this Flusher, we have a molding department that produces plastic grommets at the count of 12 - 18 every 7 sec. and we have 26 machines. Roughly 1.5 million in 8 hours.
