Chicken Feathers

Day 7 - Part 2

Part of the plan today was to hit up Zia records with Kevin. I've never been there, and love all things music, so I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I had to take a pass so I could get my play done at T.I. Not to worry, we had plans for later on which involved a steak!

I went to test the theory of the 'free early check-in'. The Check-in Sheila saw no mention of it on my account. I showed it on the offer but that didn't give her any way to feed the computer whatever it needed to be fed. So she just called my host and got it approved. And I had my room at 9:45 in the morning.

Great room, similar to last time I stayed at T.I. - the end room closest to the strip, windows on two of the walls, king bed. This time I was on the other side of the hallway, so a whole new view for me.

I did the return trip out to the parking garage where the Poon Stang was in record time, returning with all of my important belongings. I put the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door, and unpacked enough such that I could get to bed safely no matter what state I found myself in, whenever that time might be. I couldn't wait to get back to the casino. Gambling is exciting!
Nice view of EnWynn!
I took a look at the view for a while. They were all there... Wynn, Encore, Fontainblew-it, Rivi-end-of-an-era, Echelon Crash, and Circum Cizus.

After blessing the room and all who sailed in her in my very own special Flusher way, I opened the door into the hallway, quickly, to minimize the leakage of incense smoke. The Housekeeping Sheila waved from across the hall.

"Good morning!... Ummm... are those chicken feathers, sir? Do you need... help?" she asked.

I brushed down my shoulders and pant legs.

"These? No... .no," I replied and took off down the hall. Over my shoulder, I shot, "Ice-raised hormone-free Emperor Penguin feathers. Don't be alarmed."

"Yes sir."

"I'll clean the sink when I get back!"

"Yes sir!"

Note to self - tip the Housekeeping Sheila a guinea on the way back to 'keep her mouth shut'.

To recap, I'd played $200 free play, done 1/3 of the coin in I wanted to do, and was up $210. I'd dumped $100 in just the last few minutes of my previous session, which was a shame. But that's where I was.

I sat down and got busy.

I went through some money before hitting a quad.

I had yet another 4-to-a-Royal shot, which I fumbled.

I moved from machine to machine but the result was the same. After 40 minutes of play, my profit from the first go-round was all gone. Damn!

And before I knew it I'd used up $90 of my own money. I'd dumped $300 in about 20 minutes. Not good.

I took a break for a while, hoping maybe my luck would change, and talked it over with the Quad Queen. Should I keep the other $200 freeplay for tomorrow, or play it now? I was hoping to have it as a cushion. I'd planned to do $400 freeplay and $400 of my own cash - that gave me, according to the Mr. McMathface Poindexters, an 82% chance of making my goal.

But really, it didn't make any sense not to play it now. I'm a proponent of 'use it while you have it'. Casinos can and do take things away from peoples accounts, but once it's been played, they can't.

So, I fired up again, and loaded up the $200 freeplay with the last of my day's $200 stake.

If I blew through this, I'd have $200 left for the rest of the day, and tomorrow, with god knows how much coin-in to do.
