An aficionado of the sport of speed liquid elevation and consumption, and loyal reader of this blog, Jon H., sent me a great example of the Boneheaded Non-Savvy Hold of the Day - or Ass Hold.
Spotted in the wild, some nimrod performed the following defilement of a perfectly good pair of Aces.
Let's take a closer look.
How many things are wrong here?!
First of all, betting 1 credit is a no-no as far as I'm concerned.
Second, sub-par Double Double Bonus paytable.
Third - dealt a pair of Aces. Nimrod also holds a King suited with one of the Aces. And a Jack suited with the other Ace.
So Mr. Thick-as-a-Can-of-Dog-meat was trying for four Aces, a spade Royal, and a club Royal - all at the same time!
Nicely played, Sir Knobgobble.
Naturally, this button-sinning move was rewarded with a third Ace, enough to cash out and head back to the airport for the return flight to Gawlee, AR. Or maybe a suburb of Gawlee, AR, which is even less exciting than Gawlee, AR.
Big thanks to Jon H. for the photo, and big apologies to the Savvy Gamblers of AR who don't live in Gawlee.
