Royal Flusher's Daily Vegas Pic - October 10, 2018 - Downtown Construction

2009, the Golden Nugget's Rush Tower in progress.
The more things change, the more they... well, change. It took a while though.

The last time a new tower went up in Downtown Las Vegas, it was 2009. Behold, the Rush Tower under construction.

View from the Cal. Las Vegas Club still there (and open). Rush Tower at the Nugget going up.
We are on the cusp of a new round of building, with the Stevens' 18 Fremont project starting to scratch around in the sand, and the just announced new tower and reno at the Fremont (Fremont the hotel, not the street.)

It's been quite a ride to see downtown turn the tide from being back on its heels and riddled with homeless panhandlers, to being on top of the world, and riddled with homeless panhandlers (some of them bare-assed).
