Well, I lost too much money in Vegas last time, so I can't ever afford to go back...
...or can I?
I once identified as Royal Flusher, Once Degenerate and Now Savvy Gamblester, Knave of the Cheap Bastard Realm, Slayer of Nickels, Offender of Cocktail Sheilas (cheap bastard/cheap bastards).
And in a sense, even though retired, I've been working hard. My bod has required tons of attention and effort, and everywhere I turn there are still seemingly endless emotional landmines in the house to be dealt with. Grieving is a laborious process, but it must be done.
I haven't had much recreation and a change of scene is called for.
Trip now justified, let's see what we can do here.
A couple of offers appeared in my Inbox, as emails are wont to do. And one of them raised my eyebrow. And it wasn't just because I tilted my head like Larry the Cockapoo, who I am dog sitting.
Four nights at Excalibur? Comped? $100 in food AND two free buffets? And $25 in FREEPLAY?
That sounds like a pretty good offer to me. Now, when they say comped, the mean 'cheap' - because there is that pesky $37 a night resort fee to contend with. It comes in at $42 a night, including pesky taxes.
That's $168 out of pocket, with $100 + $25 + $64 = $189 in comps included. I guess the room is free after all. Rack rate is around $100 a night. They would practically be paying me to stay there - if all I did was show up, eat, play my freeplay, and watch the hotel information channel in the room for four days.
Thanks to my hammering the bejesus out of Boner Deluxe, White Orchid, and other games, Plaza is now in play.
The plaza always has surprises too... last time I stayed someone left a package of ham in the fridge for me!
ReplyDeleteI've never been comped ham before!! What a WIN!
DeleteThere is nothing like a Vegas Vacation to lighten one's mood!! I will watch for your reports.
ReplyDeleteGoing soonish?
ReplyDeleteWait and seeeee.... you know I'm always coy about that.
DeleteWill you be taking the, slow cooking-oven and room camping? Or would you actually eat out after the buffets are annihilated and leftovers are gone from the ziplock bags
ReplyDeleteIt's a strong possibility that I take the oven. Buffet bags are a great idea!
DeleteI'm also making pemmican.
Please royal, this time, bring it home! Know what I speak?
ReplyDeleteI think some of us Flusherites need to considering sponsoring some of your shenanigans in Vegas. The question is how much more savvy could you be?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I have not yet reached peak savvy.
